Chino is a city in the western end of San Bernardino County, with Los Angeles County to its west and Orange County to its south. In 1887, the land where Chino is located on was subdivided and laid out. It became the “Town of Chino,” and incorporated into a city on February 28, 1910.
Chino has a long agricultural history dating back to the Spanish land grant forming Rancho Santa Ana del Chino. Local crops included fruit orchards, row crops, sugar beets, corn, alfalfa and dairy.
Local attractions are the ‘Planes of Fame’ which is an air museum and ‘Yanks Air Museum’, both can be found at Chino Airport. Because of its pastoral setting and rural flavor, Chino was a popular site for Hollywood crews to shoot movies like The Stripper, with Joanne Woodward; and the mid-1960s TV series Twelve O’Clock High.
The City of Chino always embraces cultural equality, diversity, inclusion, equity, unity and has many historic business-friendly neighborhoods. The City of Chino is rolling out their favorite “Welcome to Chino” and their “Glad You’re Here!” inspiring Chino welcome mats to new entrepreneurs, new startups, business founders, new residents and many value-added local businesses.
In the spirit of many enterprising early settlers, local Chino entrepreneurs have created many jobs and business opportunities in the city. With the help of local business leaders, the demand for startup ventures and the need for more goods and services has ignited the spirit of business ownership in the local Chino community.
